Why do you give away so much of your content for free! I get asked this question a lot.

Well, it has to do with the concept of attraction marketing.

For example, this article is free. The resource at the end is an excellent attraction marketing guide, it’s your free. Why would I do that?

Well, the internet is now one huge competitive field in terms of marketing. So you really must stand out in the crowd.

As a business you either lower your prices to under cut your competitors or you give value to people searching for a solution to their need or problem. Only the latter builds a proper relationship.

So if success is about giving value and building a relationship, it figures that leading with great content will win hands down.

But it’s not just any ol’ content. That content really has to make a difference to the person, move them or move them forward somehow.

Try to look through the eyes of your prospect, walk in their shoes a while … and try to pin down how you can best serve their particular needs.

Great content is given away to generate interest in You Inc. You are marketing yourself, so be knowledgable, be an authority, but above all, be authentic.

This way you build relationships with your prospects based on trust and appreciation, based on giving not receiving.

Many of the people that never buy your product or never join your business, may well tap into something later on down the line. For example, there are many people on my lists who don’t buy direct but then I see them come up as a clickbank purchaser. (I track everything!)

They DON’T buy the product that’s being promoted or join my own company — but being part of my list, in exchange for their time, they get some solid content for free and we build a relationship.
