What Makes A Successful Affiliate Marketer?

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

Each year tens of thousands of people around the world register as affiliate marketers for countless companies. Some become very successful and others do not.  Some manage to create a little income and may earn as much as they invest. Many, however, who try their hand at affiliate marketing do not find any success at all.

Why is that? Why do some people become successful internet marketers, while others do not? Are there specific factors that determine affiliate success? Is it luck, money, training, attitude, skill, or something else that makes one person successful online and another not?

One popular belief is that the affiliates who are successful got that way because they had a lot of money to spend on promotion. Therefore, if you do not have thousands of dollars to spend promoting your business, you will not succeed. Other frequently heard explanations are – successful affiliates already had the necessary technical knowledge, they are internet savvy, they have connections, and are part of a select internet community.

I am sure there are some truths to these statements. If you have a lot of money to promote your company, product, or yourself and/or you have internet and marketing experience you can probably build your business faster than those who do not. But you still have to spend your money wisely.

Having money to spend on promotion is not a guarantee that you will find success as an affiliate marketer. The reverse is also true. You are not doomed to failure if you do not have an excess of money or internet experience when you start your business.

It may take you longer to become solvent than someone who does have these resources available but that does not mean you cannot succeed; many have. We have all witnessed individuals who started out with next to nothing and found success.

To become successful you need: (1) a product or service to promote and sell, (2) people to sell and promote to, (3) training, tools, and resources. These are the key ingredients. Mix them together – use the right recipe – and you will create success.

There are two truths you can count on. (1) Without promotion you will fail, because no one will know you are there. (2) ANY promotion is better than no promotion.

If you promote, you will get a response. If you do not promote, you will not get a response. Of course, you must know how many letters, fliers, emails, etc. you need to send out to get a response. With this data at hand you can set up your advertising campaign.

Therefore I have one key piece of advice if you want to succeed as an affiliate marketer: PROMOTE, PROMOTE, PROMOTE!

In order to be successful online, in today’s market you need more than just “hosting”. You need an arsenal of “easy to use” and automated tools that will guarantee sales!

Why most new affiliate marketers never make a cent

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

Affiliate marketing is easily the most profitable but also the most misunderstood online money making activity. The majority of people who try affiliate marketing do not make a cent, in fact it will even cost them hundreds of dollars and many hours.

There are a few factors that contribute to this result. First of all is the amount of information available relating to affiliate marketing. There is so much information and so many products available that the novice becomes totally confused.

This resulting confusion may lead to the purchase of an inferior product and end up being a waste of money. There are literally thousands of people online who will gladly sell you an inferior product just to make a quick buck.

Another thing against the newbie affiliate marketer is the amount of cross marketing and affiliate marketing within affiliate marketing. There are so many applications and products to promote other products that it all becomes a tangled mess and the weary newbie may quickly lose interest.

Lack of planning in any project will lead to failure and it is the same with affiliate marketing. Having a plan and sticking to it is essential. This applies to website building and marketing strategy alike.

If you build a website without a plan and without using the correct keywords in the correct manner it will be a useless tool. If you do not have a marketing plan you can follow, your marketing will not be focused and may lead nowhere.

Lack of focused research is another point that will lead the prospective affiliate marketer on a wild goose chase for riches in a niche that may be overworked with other affiliates, or into a niche that really has no market.

Another factor that affects anyone working online is the amount of distraction present on the web, Facebook, Skype and Twitter can be awesome tools but can also be a huge distraction and literally cause you to waste hours every day when you could be focusing on more constructive tasks.

An excellent word of advice is to find yourself a trusted mentor in the field who can guide you through the pitfalls of affiliate marketing before you start throwing money away on products or tactics that do not work or have no value.

Discovering a New Google Keyword Tool

Friday, December 4th, 2009

The first thing that any marketer will think of when we mention the Google keyword tool will be the Adwords keyword research tool available to us all, this is a great tool for manually searching and researching our keywords before we enter into a niche. The only downfall with this is that we will then have to go off and research our results manually on Google to see how our keyword search performs against pages already indexed on Google. This really is a necessary part of any keyword research to ensure we are getting the best from our selected keywords.

The above can be a very effective method when combining a manual search with the Google keyword tool, although we can often overlook prime keywords that have a huge gap in there market, and it can be a very time consuming process. That’s all well and good, but if you don’t have any other option then you would have to take the time consuming avenue and hope not to miss any prime keywords. That was until recently, and nowadays manual keyword research really is becoming a thing of the past thanks to a new Google keyword research tool kit that has taken the time out of the task and the worry of missing a prominent search term in our niche.

The Google keyword tool that more and more online marketers, website owners and affiliate marketers are turning to is in the for of George Brown’s amazing Google Sniper, the software is not just a keyword tool, but for marketers it can point you in the right direction for your targeted traffic, and beyond this for affiliate marketers it can help you cut the time and improve the performance of your affiliate sites that you opt to promote.

So eliminating the standard Google keyword tool and opting for Google sniper is becoming an well proven and tested method for many more than just online marketers, we mention the benefits that affiliate marketers can find within this sniper software and it reaches far beyond keyword research, but I have mentioned this as we all know keyword research is a prominent factor in our Google rankings amongst other search engines.

Taking the time to utilize this new Google keyword tool and getting all the other benefits and bonuses it has to offer means that any affiliate marketer of any level, with any amount of spare time can make the dream of earning a living from their affiliate income a serious reality.

For these reasons I encourage each and everyone of you to take a look deeper at the new Google keyword tool and other benefits that are all housed within Google Sniper, and I wish you all the best on your affiliate marketing adventure.
