Are Your Small Home Business Ideas Just a Scam?
By Jerry T Leonard
The internet is filled with a plethora of opportunities to pursue. Unfortunately, there are just as many scams as there are legitimate options to choose from. As you formulate your list of small home business ideas, there are some things you will want to be cautious of.

If you are looking to join a particular program, the first thing you want to look at is the sales page. Many scams will rant about how much money you are going to make in such a short period of time. What they lack to inform you of is how you will make this money. You never want to join a program or start anything without knowing exactly what you are going to do.

It is natural to want to include a company that will get you rich quick to your small hoe business ideas list. However, pay attention to exactly what the program is promising you. If they are guaranteeing you will have success and get rich quick, be prepared to ask the company questions. How can they guarantee you will have success without even knowing who you are and what your work ethic is?

The next thing you want to look at with your small home business ideas is the type of product you will be working with. If you do not see yourself purchasing the product, what makes you think other people will want it? Look for a company or program that has a legitimate product that is worth promoting.

A big indication of a scam is a company that does not provide or even mention training and marketing tools in the sales letter. One of the top reasons so many entrepreneurs fail is because of a lack of training. You want to look for a company that will provide you with the tools and assistance needed to prosper in the highly competitive internet marketing industry.

The last thing to look for with small home business ideas is support and contact information. You want to know you can get a hold of the leaders at any time to ask questions and clarify any uncertainties. If there is no contact information, chances are it is a scam and they are just trying to take your money and get you to sign up.

There is no question that the internet is filled with some tremendous opportunities for entrepreneurs to look into. At the same time, there are several scams you want to be wary of. When putting together your list of small home business ideas, take into consideration the information highlighted in this article.

Jerry Leonard Though one may doubt the possibility of succeeding when operating an affiliate home based business opportunities, they should not draw conclusions before trying it.

The US Economy and It’s Affect on Domain Names
By Brian Krassenstein
As you are all likely aware the US economy is in a major slowdown, if not a recession officially? Bank failures, Government bailouts, and talk of another Great depression has caused stocks to plummet, interest rates to fall, and spending to dry up. Being a domainer myself, I have found that this is the perfect time to pick up those valuable domain names at deep discounts. Whether you are looking to shop for 3 letter dot com domains, or generic word domains, the next several months promise to be prime time for buyers. It is a buyers market for the first time in the domain industry since I have been investing. If you have the cash available, you might as well invest it wisely in what seems to the be future of business, domain names.

Rather then allowing your money to sit in the bank making 1-3% annually in interest, while inflation is over 4%, or investing your money in what is currently the most volatile stock market since the mid 1980’s, put your money to work for you by purchasing traffic domains which will earn you daily interest via parking revenue, while also appreciating in value greatly, especially after we come out of this current economic disaster we are in. Here are 2 things to look for while investing in the current domain name market.

#1 Untrademarked typo’s with traffic

Look for domains which are getting type in typo traffic. For example, domains with the word recession spelled recession (with 1 “s”). or anything that’s getting traffic currently. These domains can be picked up dirt cheap compared to the yearly earnings you may be making in a Bank CD.

#2 Three and Four Letter dot com domains

Without a doubt these short domain names are the future. There are only about 17,000 3-letter dot coms in existence, and over 50% of these are developed websites. The great thing about short dot com domains is that as people register the dot orgs, dot nets, and dot whatever other extensions their are of those letters, you will benefit from their traffic. Also note that even 3 and 4 letter dot coms with bad letters such as “z”, “x”, “q” can be goldmines 5 years down the road. China and India will have huge markets for these 3 and 4 letter domains.

In conclusion I would recommend that if you have extra cash sitting around, then jump into the domain marketplace.

Why You Should Buy An Existing Domain Name
by Judith Hoelscher
When the time is right to set up your own business one of the first thoughts likely to go through your mind is to buy a domain name and get your website established on the internet. However much you may enjoying daydreaming about possible names for your website and checking their availability, its worth knowing that there is another interesting option open to you and this is to simply buy an existing domain name.
It is only natural that you will want to design a website to accurately reflect your business and to show potential customers exactly what you have on offer. On this basis you will probably not be interested in the thought of buying an existing site. However, there are distinct advantages to buying an existing domain name which may well be available to you at a price which is little more than the amount you will pay for a completely fresh name.

One of the main advantages is that there will already be traffic flowing to this website. The actual amount of traffic being directed is likely to vary depending on how much effort the previous owner has put into promoting the website, but it is worth bearing in mind that a little traffic is better than none, which would certainly be the case in the zero number of visitors delivered to a newly named website.

From a search engine optimization point of view you are likely to find that the previous owner has spent at least a little time optimizing their domain name portfolio. Some business owners put in a great amount effort to target key words and make sure their domain name gets listed. If this work has already been carried out previously you will be able to capitalize on this and spend more time doing what you need to do by way of personalizing and enhancing your website.

You will find that the era of short and catchy keyword rich domain names is well and truly over and although it is not totally impossible to find an unregistered domain name of this nature, it will prove to be a difficult task. However, many of the people who previously registered these domain names years ago, did this purely on an investment basis and you will discover, therefore, that many of them are now willing to sell.

Selecting the best domain name for your internet based business usually proves to be an interesting yet challenging experience, but if you take a little time to research the existing domain names available to buy, you may well find a great bargain and get your business off to a flying start.

The Mistakes Internet Marketers Make When Choosing Domain Names
by Francis Haastrup
Having your own site or pool of people to make famous on the Internet can be quite an exhilarating experience, and it is this exhilarating experience that Internet marketers go through almost every day, if not every hour. Because of the vast landscape that is the Internet in terms of tastes, demographics, and age; and because of the rapidly changing face of these same tastes, demographics, and age, Internet marketing can be a challenge. Internet marketers have to be constantly updated on trends in the market: what words do people respond to quickly? Does a long domain name mean uniqueness or will it turn people off and annoy them?
These are only a few questions that Internet marketers ask when it comes to choosing a domain name for a site. A domain name is simply the short hand URL of a website, and it can be followed by a dot com, dot net, dot org, or dot biz, depending on the nature of the company that owns the domain name; for an extra fee, companies or businesses affiliate themselves with their countries and thus have an extra extension at the end of their domain names. The short hand can be as obvious as dot US (for U.S.-based companies) or dot UK (for companies based in Great Britain); or it can be more attuned to the country’s old spelling, such as dot DE (for companies based in Germany, or Deutschland, to the Germans) and dot hr (for companies based in Croatia, or Hrvatska).

Choosing a domain name can be fairly easy, but then again, a domain name is also the name that a company will bear for quite a long time online. It needs to be short enough so that it can still be picked out as unique amongst all the other domain names out there; and needs to be long enough that it can still allow people to know what the company or business is without them forgetting what the URL is at all. There are many ways that Internet marketers can go wrong when choosing a domain name, and sometimes, it’s all a matter of common sense.

Domain Name Choosing Myth Number 1: The Shorter it is, the Better. This is not always the case: with people scrambling all over the World Wide Web for a short domain name, your short domain name can get lost in the Internet muck of domain names. If you are only one domain name amongst the many, you’ll have an even harder time standing out unless you are already a well-founded company with a solid following offline.

Domain Name Choosing Myth Number 2: A Dot Com is Always Better. Remember, you choose your domain name extensions for a reason, not for a money hunting season. Take on a dot com if you are a commercial firm; if you are a private individual, you can also take on a dot com, but you might not find yourself on the receiving end of the money that you might want if you take on dot net or dot biz. A dot net extension is for networks, a dot biz for businesses; there are also dot govs, for government institutions, dot edu for educational institutions, and dot org for organizations. Remember, your domain name identifies you, so pick the right domain name extension.

Domain Name Choosing Myth Number 3: Sex Sells! Well, not all domain names are sexed-up of course, but sometimes, overweening Internet marketers tend to think that sexy names will make domain names even more interesting. If you’re selling lingerie and sexy outfits, then by all means, go for pretty-lacy-encounters dot com. But if you’re not, save your dignity and look for a domain name that speaks about you, not your wish to apply desperately to the basest instincts of people if only to make money.

Domain Name Choosing Myth Number 4: Txt Speling S Nyc. Watch your spelling and don’t go Net-Speak on your domain name! Remember, if you can’t spell it right, people may actually look at you as someone who can’t do anything else right. True, you may sound hip to the younger crowd, but are you sure that you want to keep your poorly spelled domain for the long haul when your market finally grows up and discovers the power of good spelling?

These are only a few tips that you might want to keep in mind when choosing a domain name. Choose a name for your site as you would choose a name for your child: you want your kid to have fun on the playground and not get picked on; you want to make money online, and not get laughed at.
